Renovation to Support F-35 Training Simulators, Building 1416

PRIME provided design services for a renovation to accommodate new simulators for training F-35 fighter aircraft maintenance crew members. The design included equipment installation, structural modifications, and utilities to support:

PRIME collaborated with Lockheed-Martin designers to accommodate the ongoing simulator design process.

To allow for installation of a 10-ton overhead traveling crane in an existing building, PRIME developed a plan to cut away 2.5' of existing truss height and provide support through additional beams and modification of horizontal roof bracing. Foundations for the crane support required undercutting 8' below the footing. Helix anchors were used to achieve adequate capacity.
