ACS Operations Training Complex D/B RFP

Tyndall AFB, Florida | 36,000 sf | $10.5m

Gulf Coast Architectural Group developed a Design/Build Request for Proposal (RFP) for the ACS Operations Training Facility at Tyndall AFB. The scope of work included planning, design charrettes and on-site programming meetings. Early in the process, it was determined that the designated site would not accommodate the project. GCAG analyzed 12 different sites and configurations to come up with a solution to this problem. The facility was designed to be LEED certifiable and includes three primary areas of function: Computer Simulation Operations, Small Computers, and International Student Training. Each area is functionally distinct from other areas. There are separate ADA accessible access and egress points to each department. The Operations area is a restricted access space (open classified storage) and is separated from all other areas.

[GCAG] did an exceptional job of defining contract requirements and responding to changing user needs… met demanding schedules for congressional insert and provided an alternate floor plan & bid schedule to facilitate the user obtaining an additional 3,000 sq. ft. of space due to a change in pricing.”
