The GCAG Team is composed of talented designers who provide exceptional service to clients throughout the US and the world. Our team includes registered Architects, NCIDQ Interior Designers, LEED Accredited Professionals, Registered Roof Consultants, and Registered Roof Observers. Our technical staff is skilled with AutoCAD and Revit and can produce architectural renderings, walk-throughs and fly-overs using Sketch-Up, AutoCAD Rendering and Revit Architecture. GCAG's production administration professionals are proficient with SpecsIntact software and UFGS requirements. They make our entire process seamless, combining and coordinating the work of our in-house designers and consultants into high quality design documents.

Kumar Buvanendaran, PE – President and Principal

Kumar Buvanendaran, PE, has more than 30 years of experience in the A&E industry. He started his career as a structural engineer with a focus on bridge design. In 2007, he co-founded PRIME AE Group (originally PRIME Engineering, Inc.) which has grown to over 350 people under his leadership. Gulf Coast Architectural Group (GCAG) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PRIME AE. As President of GCAG, Kumar provides strategic vision and management to GCAG.

G. Larry Law, RA, NCARB, LEED AP

Larry Law, RA, NCARB, LEED AP, has more than 39 years of experience in a full range of design services including quality control, planning, programming, construction management, cost estimating, value engineering, and contract administration. For the past 20 years, his primary focus has been on Department of Defense projects, and he has worked for clients including the Marine Forces Reserves, US Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, and multiple commands of the US Air Force. He has designed nearly every project type typically found on a DoD installation, including headquarters, operations, administrative, industrial, dormitory and housing, airfield, and laboratory facilties. Throughout his career, Larry has worked on more than 110 DoD projects. His professional philosophy is to design quality facilities that exceed the clientís goals while architecturally enhancing the community.


Don Carlos, RA, NCARB, RRC, LEED AP BD+C, has more than 34 years of experience in architectural design and construction. He has extensive experience providing design services to Department of Defense and other Federal clients, and has managed DoD IDIQ contracts and projects in the U.S. and internationally. His expertise includes contract administration, project management, architecture, and quality control services. He has managed a full range of project types including project definitions, Design-Build RFPs, full design, construction phase services, and various studies. In addition to his architectural expertise, Don is one of fewer than 450 Registered Roof Consultants in the U.S. He provides roof and envelope design, assessment, testing, warranty review, and expert witness services.

W. Giles Yokel, RA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C

W. Giles Yokel, RA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, has more than 14 years of experience providing architectural design services to public and private sector clients. He has designed a wide variety of building types for DoD clients including the Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, Marine Forces Reserve, US Army Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC Southeast. project management, facility design. His experience includes project management, programming, charrette facilitation, concept design, full design, and construction phase services. He is knowledgeable regarding federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines that typically apply to DoD projects. As a LEED AP with a keen interest in sustainable design, Giles is a leader in the firmís green building practice.

Markus Henneke, PE, PMP

Markus Henneke, PE, PMP, a former Air Force Civil Engineer Officer with over 25 years of Air Force experience with key assignments at Base, MAJCOM and HAF levels. He has been a Base Civil Engineer Commander multiple times, a Deputy Mission Support Group CC and a Mission Support Group CC. During his time at HAF, he led planning and programming efforts for all installation support funding and key player in the stand up of AFCEC. With his experience and knowledge, he has first-hand knowledge and insights on your processes and procedures, so he understands your challenges and can ensure your needs, priorities and expectations are achieved.
